This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) sets out how FarmerPay Fintech Private Limited (“FarmerPay”, “Company”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) collects, uses, stores, processes, shares, and protects the personal data of individuals (“you”, “user”, “data principal”) who access or use the FarmerPay mobile application, the intermediary and bank dashboards, or any digital service provided by us. FarmerPay is a technology-based agri-fintech platform designed to deliver farm management, crop intelligence, loan discovery services, insurance facilitation, fisheries and livestock management, mandi insights, weather intelligence, and advisory solutions.
We recognise that the data entrusted to us is sensitive and personal in nature. FarmerPay is committed to maintaining the privacy, security, and confidentiality of user data in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP), 2023, applicable RBI guidelines for digital lending, and global best practices of data protection. By using our application or services, you expressly consent to the terms of this Policy.
This Policy applies to the processing of personal data collected through the FarmerPay Mobile Application and the FarmerPay agent application. It governs all data collected during user onboarding, farm and field management, ROOTS crop intelligence, livestock and fisheries modules, loan and insurance discovery, advisory interactions, document uploads, notifications, and any other functionalities offered through these two platforms.
We collect name, mobile number, gender, village, district, state, activity type (farming, dairy, fishery, etc.) and other details provided during onboarding. This enables account creation, profile building, and personalisation of services.
Geolocation of farms, fields, ponds, and agent visit locations is collected to provide advisory, crop intelligence, mandi proximity, and weather-based alerts. Location access is granted strictly through user consent.
We collect data relating to crop types, farm size, input cost details, actual and expected yield, task-level progress, livestock and fisheries data, soil conditions, and related data to enable ROOTS intelligence, profitability scoring, and decision-making support.
Users may upload land documents, soil health cards, farm and pond photos, livestock images, and other supporting documents. These are processed solely for verification and platform functionalities.
We collect data relating to loan requirements, insurance preferences, expected vs actual economic parameters, and eligibility-related inputs. FarmerPay does not store Aadhaar numbers, bank account numbers, DigiLocker files, or sensitive banking credentials of farmers. Intermediary/agent bank account details may be collected and stored securely with explicit consent solely for commission disbursement.
We collect anonymised device information, crash logs, usage patterns, and session analytics to enhance performance and improve user experience. This data does not contain personally identifiable information unless explicitly permitted.

FarmerPay collects and processes personal data strictly on the basis of explicit, informed, and revocable consent as per DPDP Act, 2023. Users are presented with clear and language-accessible notices describing why a particular data category is required. Consent may be withdrawn at any time through in-app settings or by contacting the Grievance Officer. Upon withdrawal, processing related to the withdrawn consent ceases unless mandated by law.
All personal data collected by FarmerPay is stored exclusively on secure cloud servers located in India (AWS Mumbai region). Data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3 and encrypted at rest using AES-256. Access to data is governed by strict role-based access control to ensure that only authorised personnel can view or access data relevant to their responsibilities.
FarmerPay maintains logs of data access, conducts periodic security audits, follows CERT-In security practices, and implements monitoring systems to detect unauthorised access. Uploaded files are stored in secure AWS S3 buckets with encryption and access policies. We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil its purpose, or as required by law or partner financial institution retention policies. Aadhaar and DigiLocker content is never stored.

FarmerPay does not knowingly collect personal data from individuals below 18 years of age. Age verification mechanisms are used during onboarding. If any such data is inadvertently collected, it will be deleted as soon as discovered.
FarmerPay may update this Policy periodically to reflect changes in technology, legal or regulatory requirements, or product improvements. Significant changes will be communicated to users through the application, email, or notification banners. Continued use of the platform following an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
